About the event

Using Sunbeam as a case study, we will focus on a child's learning environment. We will cover topics such as why the natural environment is so powerful for young children and how the environment can meet the needs of individuals while maintaining group cohesion in a mixed setting. The presenter, Shawna Thompson, will share philosophical and developmental foundations and also give parents tips and take-aways for creating low-cost natural play areas at home. This is a reworked version of a day-long workshop recently presented to a room of 90 educators in Tuolumne County. **Childcare available to Sunbeam Co-op Members $10 per hour**
